Naviance To Scoir

Naviance+To+Scoir

Scoir is an Irish Gaelic term that stands for exit, retirement, or transition from one phase to another. It is a system similar to Naviance which assists students with their college application process.

It allows students to research careers and colleges, see academic profiles and request recommendation letters to help them apply to college.

Scoir is addressing problems with the college admissions process, such as understanding their best fit with colleges, how to highlight their unique skills and achievements, and how to avoid becoming trapped by their GPAs, SATs, or ACTs.

Applying with Scoir only takes a few minutes; just start by completing the profile’s basic requirements, then move on to answer more questions and start searching for a college match.

WJPS assistant principal, Mr. Petrotta, said, “We were excited to move to Scoir for a number of reasons, including a simpler and clearer interface, their best-fit colleges search feature, and the Scoir app. Scoir has several options for finding colleges, including the Find Your College Match quiz and Scattergrams. We are excited for our new partnership and look forward to our students using them next year.”

WJPS junior Ezri Munoz said, “I think that switching from Naviance to Scoir shows that there are some aspects where Scoir is more effective and will make it simpler for students to complete their college applications.”
