Content surrounding the Sonic media franchise has been released consisting of the second Sonic movie, the Sonic Frontiers video games, a continued release of comics by IDW Publishing and now, the Sonic Prime TV show.

The first season of Sonic Prime was released in December and consisted of eight episodes on Netflix. There has been no set dates for a second season, but there is a set amount of episodes for the series which is 24 episodes.

Releasing a full season of episodes in this manner really stiffens the momentum the series can build up. Weekly releases are more preferable as it builds up hype and intensity.

WJPS senior Kevin Juarez stated, “Episodes should be released once a week because it builds up anticipation and excitement on what is going to happen on the next episode. It gives the viewers and fans of the show a reason to continue talking and watching the show in the long run.”

In contrast, WJPS senior Diego Hernandez said, “I think a show’s release schedule should focus on how it would impact their show. For instance, in The Walking Dead franchise, I think it would work great to be releasing once a week. Something that doesn’t capture the audience’s attention should be released fully.”
