Now batting for the Yankees, number 99, Aaron Judge, passing Roger Maris to set the American League record for most homeruns in a season.

The Yankees are now competing for their 28th World Series ring.

Judge was offered a huge contract right as the season began, but declined it as the Yankees failed to agree on a contract extension. He  is now set to be a free agent after the season.

A four time All-Star, Judge is the leading candidate to become the MVP of the American league. He finished the season with 62 home runs, 131 runs batted in, and an average of .311.

Giovanni Duran, a WJPS senior said, “I think it’s good for him as a player since he is coming up on free agency and he can get a huge deal for lots of money and he’s also playing very well for the Yankees.”

Niko Zournatzoglou, another WJPS senior, stated, “I think Aaron Judge hitting home runs is a great accomplishment and this should tell the Yankees to extend his expiring contract.”
