American singer Doja Cat suggested the idea of retiring after her canceled show in Paraguay.

The singer was on tour in South America and had a show set for Paraguay’s Asuncionico festival. There was a storm and flood that occurred on the day she was set to perform, and the show was canceled.

Doja Cat did not greet her fans during her tour in Paraguay. Instead, fans shared their thoughts on the matter on Twitter and Instagram.

While some supported her precaution, others wanted another opportunity to see a show or have a meet-and-greet with the singer. The situation led to arguments between fans and Doja Cat herself on Twitter.

The singer then stated on Twitter that she was going to quit music and had then changed her display name to “I Quit” in response to the comments she received.

She later apologized for her actions stating, “It’s my problem, but you guys always help me solve it when you support me the way you’ve been.”

WJPS senior Madison Ophilant, said, “I think it’s good she apologized, but at the same time, she isn’t obligated to meet with them. It was all during a dangerous time.”

WJPS junior Krishan Negi stated, “It definitely isn’t her fault. The show had to be canceled because of the storm. Though, I do understand why people would be mad since it most likely cost them a lot of money to see her.”  

Whether Doja Cat is retiring or not has yet to be confirmed.
