Was This Twitter Ban Necessary?

COVID is still a serious ongoing threat, especially with the new Omicron variant spreading rapidly. As such, the World Health Organization and the CDC have spread the news across various social media platforms.

Recently, US Representative Republican Marjorie Greene had her personal account banned on Twitter for repeated COVID Vaccine death misinformation.

According to the New York Times, this was not the first time that Greene had her account suspended as it has happened four times in the past.

WJPS therapist, Ms. Riffkin explained that, “If this person has continued with actions, despite having her account suspended, it seems that a ban is the most likely step to take.”

WJPS teacher, Mr. Reff noted that, “I believe that if it is found that she was spreading harmful information, Twitter has the right to ban her. I believe that everyone has the right to free speech as long as it is used to not harm others.”

The Twitter ban was necessary due to repetition. This was the best solution in order to prevent the spread of false information about COVID.
