The Grammy Awards will be postponed due to a rise in Covid-19 cases.

The Grammys is an annual award ceremony held to honor and credit excellence within the music industry. Viewers typically can watch various performances from artists and potentially witness their favorite artist winning a Grammy award.

The Recording Academy chooses the nominees and winners of the event via voting. 

This year marks the 64th anniversary of the ceremony, which was set to be in Los Angeles on January 31st.

This will be the second year in a row organizers have postponed the event due to COVID-19. 

There is yet to be confirmation of an official date and whether the event will be in person.

WJPS senior Trinity Andujar said, “I watch the Grammys, so as long as it’s still happening, I’m happy. I need to know who wins! Plus, I like to see the debates over who should’ve won an award.”

Another WJPS senior, Ajax Graham, said, “I’m more of an Oscar Awards type of guy. I’m a big film lover, so I’m not interested in the Grammys.”
