WJPS Clubs Are Back

WJPS+Clubs+Are+Back

After almost two years of being at home and virtual, WJPS has reintroduced its clubs to its students.

This October, when clubs were cleared by assistant principal, Mr. Petrotta, many began to reunite and meet once again.

While some clubs like Fashion Club and Bring Change to Mind Club met virtually a few times, most clubs were on a hiatus because of COVID-19 quarantine.

WJPS senior, Yarelly Ramirez, a member of the Bring Change to Mind Club said, “I think my club being back is very exciting. We met virtually for a while and finally being able to see my club members in person is a lot better than a computer screen.”

Also excited, WJPS senior, Jenny Kuo, a member of the Fashion Club said, “being back we finally can do in-person activities, and it’s [the] last year of high school so I really want to do something special!”

As many clubs in WJPS bring students and the community together through club activities and community service, WJPS senior, Alvin Zeng said, “clubs bring back the creative and encouraging environment that WJPS once had.”

Being president of the volleyball club, Zeng said he wants to allow his club members to “enjoy the time they have with their fellow peers and teachers.”

Now, as clubs are getting started up again this fall, be sure to be on the lookout for `posters over the school for more information on clubs you might be interested in.
