“Times are Changing”

This season the standing report on teams in the NBA’s Western Conference has surprised me  in many ways. Teams that were once on top are now falling.

One team in particular is the Golden State Warriors. This team has dropped in the standings and now they are on the bottom of the ranking list. This is incredible because of how they were on the top not too long ago.

The Warriors were a three-time recent championship team with Stephen Curry as their point guard, but now he is injured, along with Clay Thompson, plus the loss of Kevin Durant to free agency.

The New Orleans Pelicans are also an example of a team on the decline, due to the trade of All- Star Anthony Davis and the loss of first draft pick Zion Williamson to injury.

Some of the bottom teams in the past few years, such as the Los Angeles Lakers, the Los Angeles Clippers and the Denver Nuggets have moved towards the top of the standings this year’s season.

The Los Angeles Lakers gained a great force when LeBron James joined the team and when Davis arrived in a trade from the Pelicans.

Ultimately, this just shows how quickly things can change in the NBA.
