There are some dangers with Uber, and some girls are becoming more and more terrified. Personally I fear when I have to take an Uber ride at night by myself, but in my opinion it is the safest when it comes to other forms of transportation.

Recently there have been several stories in the news about Uber drivers kidnapping people, but the most common stories involve girls.

One story about a South Carolina college student who was killed after she mistook a car for her Uber ride. The mother of the student pleaded with a judge to keep the man charged for her daughter’s death in jail.

Another incident occured in New York is one where an Uber driver was charged with kidnapping and threatening to sexually assault a 15-year-old girl. The man was 32, and was driving the alleged victim home from a Sweet 16 party on Long Island. She was simply just going to a party and had no idea that her life would change with just a single ride.

The majority of the time Ubers are safe and the drivers are very nice and respectful. However, there may be times where the drivers can be sketchy and you feel that something is off.

If I ever feel concerned I send others the license plate of my Uber and my location, just in case something unthinkable happens. It’s always better to be safe than sorry.
