By: Kayla Martinez, Community Reporter

Nearing the end of the first month, World Journalism Preparatory School welcomed new and returning students back to school for the 2019-2020 school year adding some changes along the way.

The hallways of WJPS were very crowded as the students found their classes on the first day. Metro Cards were distributed on the first day, as well as lunch forms.

WJPS freshman Yanni Liontos on how his First Day experience went. He said,  “There was definitely a lot of chaos. The hallways were crowded and many parents were in the entrances dropping off their children.”

This school year at WJPS, new regulations were put into place. Students are instructed to place their cell phones in a “parking lot” at the beginning of class. Additionally, teachers are now advising students to make sure they sign in and out when they use the restroom. Sophomore Nicholas Martinez said “There were a lot of new rules put into place on the first day that were really different from last year.”
