Blink

With every blink

your lashes fly

With every blink

your life goes by

With every blink

you despairingly cry

With every blink

you  tell a lie

With every blink

You see new worlds

With every blink

Reality unfurls

With every blink

You see them go

With every blink

Everything grows old

With every blink

Your hands start to shake

With every blink

Your eyes slowly fade

With every blink

Their souls go free

With every blink

You realize “it’s just me”

With every blink

You slow down

Tired and lonely

You fall down

Your back on your bed

Eyes up to the sky

And you slowly start to close your eyes
