Another school year is here, and with it, come both new and familiar faces alike.

Unfortunately, Mr. Sosa and Mr. Vargas are no longer teaching at WJPS. But with their departure come three new teachers: Mr. Thompson, who teaches history, Mr. Gardener, who teaches math and Mr. Andrejkovics who teaches engineering and technology.

There are no longer half days during Wednesdays. To compensate, students are being dismissed earlier in the day at 2:25pm, as opposed to last year, which was 2:42pm.

Related to schedule changes, school currently starts at 8:05am; five minutes later than last year. This may seem minor, but it is a saving grace to those who miss the bell by only a few minutes.

The gym is currently under renovation because of its poor conditions. The date of which the construction will be completed varies from December to June.

“It sucked. We’re completely replacing the floorboard with a new, flexible, water resistant floor along with new bleachers and lights,” said Mrs. Schneider.

During this time, the school will be going to the school yard during physical education.
