Walking out into nature one morning can be soothing. For once, all the buildings are out of sight. There are only trees and birds in one’s surrounding.

These are the experiences a nature walker would encounter if they attended the Nature Walk at the Alley Pond Environmental Center. On November 23, 2013 at 11 A.M., one of the science teachers, Ms. Cimini, is going to be leading a nature walk. All family and friends are welcome to attend, and the walk is free.

“[The walk’s purpose is] to get people outside and get [them] to appreciate the natural spaces we have here,” Ms. Cimini said.

After the nature walk, Ms. Cimini will be taking the group inside the environmental center and showing them the various animals.

“Just be outside and appreciate the nature here in New York City. Learn some stuff,” Ms. Cimini said.
