America’s beautiful, humorous, and talented celebrities went live Sunday evening on September 22nd for the Emmy Awards. Over 6,000 celebrities seated, 200 crew members, and 30,000,000 viewers supported the Primetime Emmy Awards.

The host for the evening was none other than Neil Patrick Harris, who began the night with a skit and was joined by previous Emmy hosts. In addition, there were several performances such as Elton John who sang “Home Again” and dedicated to Liberachi, Jane Lynch who made a memorial tribute to Cory Monteith, and many others for their talents to be forever remembered.

“I recall the tributes to people who passed away my favorite,” seventh grader Sabrina Pincay said.

Viewers also witnessed history when Gail Mancuso won in “Best Director for a Comedy Series” for the “Arrested” episode of Modern Family. This also gave Mancuso recognition for being the second female to have won in a category dominated by men. Furthermore, as expected, the director of Saturday Night Live, Survivors, and a handful of Broadway shows, Don Roy King, had won his fourth emmy award in “Outstanding Directing In A Variety Of Series.” Breaking Bad, Modern Family, Boardwalk Empire, and House of Cards were all winners.

“It’s a great way to see and rate the show you’re watching and it’s entertaining,” junior Kayleigh Mulvey said.

“I didn’t like it because I didn’t really know a lot of the actors and shows being nominated,”sophomore Marcella Orlando said.

The 65th Emmy Awards not only honors actors, but most importantly, made viewers of all ages wonder if what is being viewed truly worth one’s time. For more information visit the Emmys Academy of Television Arts and Science or click play on Netflix.
