Hillary Clinton announced that she will be running in the 2016 election. This will be her second time running for Presidency.

Clinton is sixty seven years old, running as a Democrat and announced this on April 12, 2015. Clinton is the only first lady who has also been apart of the United States Senate (she served under Obama).

“This is a positive for our country. She has a great education and she’s been in the White House before. She was the first lady so I think that’s a huge advantage,” sixth grade teacher Ms. Muenkwitz said.

Clinton has received a lot of support, especially from women. Clinton’s supporters gave her $2.5 billions dollars to help with her campaign. They have received many donations from the Democrats who are also supporting Clinton.

Now that Clinton has announced her campaign she will be going to different states such as New Hampshire and Iowa. Clinton will “begin to lay out the central theme of her candidacy: improving the economic fortunes of the middle class, with an emphasis on increasing wages and reducing income inequality.”

“Throughout history, men always run for President and I think if she wins it will encourage younger girls and women to take charge and [take] more risks in society,” junior Heejin Kim said.

There was a poll taken in February, 81% of democrats said they would possibly vote for Clinton.
