As the tenth season of America’s Got Talent rolls around, filmings for the show have begun. Fans line up around the block from the Hammerstein Ballroom to get the best seats to watch the acts, as they work on a first come first serve basis.

The requirements to be part of the audience includes no jeans, no tank tops, no logos, no t-shirts, only solid colored clothing.

“I always enjoy going to America’s Got Talent, I get to go with a bunch of my friends and we always get seats within the first few rows. It’s a great excuse to go into the city and dress up,” fan Justine Damato said.

There are between 10-15 acts that perform each show that range from singing, dancing, martial arts, aerial acts, eating bugs, etc. The four judges, Heidi Klum, Mel B, Howie Mandel, and Howard Stern all comment on the performances and vote which acts go on to the next round. The audience is allowed to clap, boo, laugh, and chant to show how they felt about the performances.

New Yorkers have the chance to take part in filming close to ten times a season. This includes seeing the beginning acts, semi finals, and the final performances in Radio City Music Hall.

“This is my third time seeing America’s Got Talent, and I love to go everytime. I even got to see the live shows at Radio City one year, which was awesome,” fan Julian Pagan said.
