Amazon’s new Voyage tablet is their thinnest, lightest, and highest resolution e-reader thus far, and it is now on sale in their online store. It was released along with a number of other tablets including a new Fire HDX tablet and a version for kids (Fire HD 7 Kids edition).
Amazon’s Kindle Voyage comes equipped with a high-quality magnesium body and a flush display that is much higher in pixel density than their $100 Paperwhite model. It also includes unlimited 3G cellular connectivity and runs the same software as Kindle’s Paperwhite Tablet.
“I really like the way the new Kindle looks compared to the other models and I’m probably going to buy it in the future,” senior Anisa Bridgelal said.
Amazon placed a lot of focus on bettering the readability of their tablet this time around, for users to feel comfortable during long reading sessions. New features such as an ambient light sensor allow the Voyage to dynamically adjust brightness depending on user settings. The screen’s texture was also deliberately made to look slightly speckled to achieve a high-quality-paper sort of look.
“It’s actually surprisingly easy to read on the new Kindle and I love the way it looks,” senior Taylor Maldonado said.
