Skylar Kleess, a 2018 WJPS graduate, returned this year for Career Day. She is now a social worker at two nearby high schools.
She works between Veritas Academy and Richmond Hill High School.
Kleess’ ability to stay connected with her students is quite easy because she stays interested in pop culture and is always wanting to connect with one another.
To be a social worker, you must have a masters and a bachelor’s degree in social work.
What Kleess enjoys most about her job is being able to connect with her students and being able to see their growth as the time passes.
Although she enjoys her job, growing up her dream was to be a physical therapist. She would spend most of her free time volunteering at hospitals near her.
Two pieces of advice that Kleess would like to share are, “never be afraid to ask for help” and “it’s never too late to change paths.”
