Long awaited moment has finally come, the CUNY acceptance letters. It was only a few months ago when the senior class began their school year in September and shrugged off college, as it was thought, to be far away. However, in actuality college is now closer than it seems.
On the CUNY website, Freshman (and/or) Transfer students will receive their general admission letters beginning mid-february. Mid-February roughly translates to February 14th.
“This time of the year is the most stressful for seniors, but I have a lot of faith in the students and I know that they will get into the college that they are meant to go to,” 12th grade teacher Mr. Daniel Petrotta said.
Students are eagerly waiting on their congratulatory packages, as the majority of seniors would like to stay in the NYC area. However, they can only be allowed to do this if the given college will welcome them as one of their own.
“I’m really anxious to find out what colleges I did and did not get into. Its true, this time of the year is the hardest for seniors but I think that it will all work out. Its just a waiting game now.” senior Taylor Maldonado said
With each passing day the feeling of unease continues to grow in the minds of the seniors. Despite this, teachers, faculty and staff have high hopes and expectations, that each and every one of the WJPS seniors will be given acceptance to the college of their dreams.
