Fc Barcelona has been paired up with Bayern Munich and Real Madrid has been set to face Juventus for the semi finals.
On May 5 and 12, first place La Liga holders will face, Bayern Munich, while last years champion league winners will face the famous old lady (Juventus) on May 6 and 13 for the semi final champion league title.
Pep Guardiola (current Bayern Munich coach) will be coming back to Camp Nou on where he will be facing Barcelona, which he coached for four years. During his time with the Catalans he has won two Champions league, three La Ligas, and two Club World Cups. This is first time he is coming back since 2012 where he left the team to join the German Giants at Bayern Munich.
“It’s special as it’s the first time Pep will face Barca. He will face his former players too,Bayern aspire to the same as us and have the best coach.I don’t care about playing the first leg at home or away. We will go out to win both games. Now I am just interested in the three La Liga games before the semifinals,” Luis Enrique (current Barcelona coach) told reporters
Los blancos will be facing head to head with the old lady “aka” Juventus as they wish to settle things once in for all. Last time the two faced, the champion league title holders were put to a stop at Santiago Bernabeu with the Italian Club beating Real Madrid at home 2-1 in 2013-2014 champions league semi final. Real Madrid are the favorites as they wish to get revenge on what happen two years ago.
“I think Real Madrid have a better chance of winning because of the fact that they have [a] better squad. They have very good quality in how they play their football but Juventus still has a high chance of winning if they choose to play very well. At the end of the day the game can go either way,”junior Martin Vrankovic said.
The final game will be held at on June 6 in Olympiastadion in Berlin, Germany. The same day of the opening of the women’s world cup in Canada.
