Warner Bros. Pictures has recently released a new movie based on Formula 1 drivers. The main cast of the movie titled F1 stars Brad Pitt, Damson Idris, Kerry Condon, Javier Bardem. 

The movie will be put onto the streaming service Apple Plus on December 12th. 

It’s about a retired F1 driver played by Brad Pitt who is forced out of retirement after 30 years to train and coach a new rookie driver played by Damson Idris.

The movie isn’t about one driver in particular, but it is inspired by Formula 1 drivers as a whole. 

Lewis Hamilton is also one of the many producers of the film. He has been involved in Formula 1 as a driver since 2007 and has won seven World Championships. 

WJPS 12th grader Joseph Weir said, “I think the movie was good and did really well especially because of how popular F1 is with its fan base. I also liked how they included some of Tate McRae’s music.” 

F1 has become the sixth highest grossing movie in 2025 ranking up six hundred and twenty-seven million dollars worldwide. 

Brad Pitt has starred in other movies such as Fight Club, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, Ocean’s Eleven, Seven, and 12 Monkeys. 

WJPS 12th grader Markella Georgiou said, “The best part was definitely seeing the actual F1 drivers along with the actors throughout the film and seeing all the fantastic cars.“
