People of all ages come together to run for the Color Run every year. The Color Run is an organization put together to promote happiness and healthiness. It will be taking place May 23rd at Citi Field.
“I ran the Color Run last year. There wasn’t a miserable person at the run. It didn’t feel like a 5k once we started running. I’ve never had so much fun running a 5k,” runner Justine Damato said.
This years cycle is not a regular color run, it is the “Shine Run.” The Color Run is not a non-profit organization. But, the run does shine light and teams up with certain organizations. The Color Run has helped charities raise over three million dollars.
“I loved doing The Color Run. I did it with a bunch of my friends and we had so much fun we didn’t even feel like we were running a 5k,” senior Caroline DeBonis said.
A difference between The Color Run and other 5k’s is that there are multiple stations throughout the race where volunteers stand and throw paint packets at participants so that runners are covered in different colors by the time runners reach the finish line.
