Christmas came early for Taylor Swift, or “Santa Swift”, as she surprised fans with gifts just in time for the holidays.
The 7-time Grammy winner has previously invited fans over to her house for a listening party of 1989 for free concert after parties to meet and hang out with her. This time, Swift once again goes beyond what an artist would do for fans by sending them large boxes filled with Christmas gifts.
Swift is known to be very heartfelt and generous when it comes to her dedicated fans, and she is always keeping them happy, especially when it comes to her favorite holiday of the year. Just like the 1989 Secret Sessions, the “Blank Space” singer discovered her fans and gathered their information through social media.
Rather than simply sending a letter and an autograph, she sent personalized gifts. A few of these gifts included makeup kits, pillows, Japanese tea sets, and sweaters. Twitter user alyssassyla posted a few pictures of the early Christmas gifts Swift had sent to her, and characterizes herself as “dead” from receiving presents from the 24-year old singer herself.
“I think what she is doing is so amazing and sweet because she cares about her fans so much compared to people who don’t,” sophomore Janae Kea said, “If I were a fan who received a gift, I would be so overwhelmed with happiness and thankful for the fact that she would take time out of her life to give me a gift.”
Swift didn’t only send the personalized gifts with handwritten letters to these lucky fans, but included handwritten notes on the gifts of why she chose those gifts for the specific person she sent them to.
“Hannah- the Bobbi Brown Bronze palette is my favorite right now because it’s really shimmery/light. I use it for the eyeshadow too. And the ultimate red (you look beautiful without make up, but just in case you wanted some ♥),” a handwritten note on a bag that included body mist, eyeshadow and a NARS lipstick to Twitter user HannahRae1327 said.
Recently, Swift isn’t only keeping her fans delighted with gifts, but with her new fifth studio album. 1989 is out in stores now and includes her hit singles “Shake it Off” and “Blank Space”.
