A picture can be worth a thousand words but some pictures can make them famous. While 16 year old Alex Lee was at work at Target, as he was scanning items, a picture of him was taken.
The girl who took the picture, Brooklyn Reiff, a junior at Prosper High School in Prosper, Texas, posted the picture on her twitter account @GOLDILOCKS and that’s where Alex’s fame started.
Reiff had taken the picture to show it to her friend, so she tweeted it. After a couple of hours, Alex became a media sensation and the original tweet got over 800,000 retweets. The picture blew up on the internet because everyone thought he was attractive. Soon after, the picture spread all over Twitter with the hashtag #AlexFromTarget. Alex said his manager showed him the picture and he was in shock.
The next morning, he appeared on several news channels and a few days later Alex was asked to appear on The Ellen Show for an interview.
“I think everyone blew it out of proportion, he looks like every other typical white boy,” middle schooler Deborah Lassends said. Alex has now over 730k Twitter followers and thousands of fans.
“I do think that he is cute but there is no reason for him to be on TV and doing interviews,” sophmore Kayla Morell said.
Lee is now famous which cause many to say ‘why is he famous?’ Along with fame comes fans and haters. Many people sent him hate over social media while some sent him love. Even though Alex may not be attractive or important to everyone, he is sure to be the employee of the month.
