After over a year from the release of Grand Theft Auto V (GTA V) on Xbox 360 and Playstation 3, Rockstar Games Newswire has announced that the title will be coming to Playstation 4, and Xbox One on November 18th. The PC version however will be released on January 27, 2015 (April 14, 2015).
According to Rockstar (the developers of the game), the power of the the new gaming consoles and PC allow the game to have better graphics, more detail to the environment, better performance, denser traffic, and more walking pedestrians. The game will also receive new missions, over 100 new music tracks, additional wildlife, and an all new first person view allowing the players to explore the world in a whole different perspective.
GTA Online will also benefit from the new version of the game. The multilayer player count will go up from 16 players to 30 players, more wildlife will be added, and more activities are to come in the future with Rockstars constant updates to the game. Any game story progression (offline or online character progression) will be available to bring to the new version of the game through the games Socialclub. Socialclub is the social hub that allows online interactions between players to play online and to share unique moments in the game
“I can’t wait to get it, I’m excited to see previous vehicles like the Dukes car and the Dodo airplane from Grand theft auto IV and Vice City. The fact that you can bring your progression to next generation is really good,” junior Jake Bochow said.
Grand theft auto five’s popularity made the title break seven Guinness World Records last year in a week of it’s release. The games popularity generated the parent company Take two Interactive over $1 billion in just three days of its release. The next generation version is expected to do well and get players on an upgraded performance system.
The audience for the game is rated M for mature (17 years of age or older) but despite the age the game is required to play by ESRB (Entertainment Software Rating Board), underage children and teenagers play the game. This has allowed the Grand theft Auto titles to have massive popularity as people from different ages play the game and for the most part, enjoy it.
