The NY Giants came out of their 2 week losing streak and shocked all their fans with their astonishing victory.
On September 21, 2014, the NY Giants had a 30 to 17 victory against the Houston Texans. The game started out a little rough for the Giants.
In the first quarter, Eli Manning, quarterback, threw the ball to the tight end, Larry Donnell. However, he dropped the ball and the Texans were able to pick it up and run a few yards with it.
In the second quarter, the Giants attempted a field goal. Sadly, Steve Weatherford, punter, missed the ball and made it not possible for the kicker, Josh Brown, to kick the ball for the field goal. Luckily, the Giants made up for it by their wide reciever, Victor Cruz getting a touchdown.
Following that, Antrell Rolle, the strong safety, intercepted the Texans ball and was able to run a few yards with it before being stopped. Then the Giants ended the quarter with another touchdown by their running back Rashad Jennings.
In the third quarter, the Texans were able to score a touchdown. The Giants did not score anything in this quarter.
In the fourth quarter, the Texans attempted a punt but missed it. Linebacker, Spencer Paysinger, was able to pick up the ball and led to the Giants gaining possession of the ball.
This steered the Giants to the right path by helping them get another touchdown by their tight end, Daniel Fells. Then, the corner back, Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie, intercepted another Texans ball, ending the quarter.
“This was indicative for what we’re trying to do when talking about in terms of playing together,” head coach of the Giants Tom Coughlin said at a press conference.
He believes this game was a sign that shows how the NY Giants are starting to work together as a team. They came out of their rough start and made a surprising comeback by working together as a team and fixing their mistakes from the past 2 games.
“Off to a bad start, but they are heading toward the right direction,” junior Sara Doran said.
The Giants were determined to win this game and were motivated to continue. They were able to work together as a team and fix their past mistakes from previous games.
