Grades is a huge part of any schooling system, and it determines how well you understand, comprehend, and can apply certain materials, equations, formulas, etc. It is important to try and do as best as possible because GPA will affect what colleges accept certain students, and in return it may affect the job said student will get in the future. Slacking off now would be silly and it's in the best nature for these students to strive to work hard because then it gets easier as life continues. Picture from public domain.
