As World Journalism Preparatory School students settle back into school from their summer breaks, they quickly start to notice the heat in most of their classrooms.
Some classes however, have new working air conditioners, like Ms. LaVerda Byrne’s room for example.
We spoke with WJPS students and staff about their thoughts and opinions of the current heat situation in their classrooms.
Yamani Thomas a junior student here at World Journalism Preparatory School said, “It’s so hot, I can’t even focus on my classwork half the time, I’m always sweating. They should invest some money on real air conditioning, not fans in the air vents,” said Thomas.
Alternatively, we spoke to a few students who didn’t mind the heat, and are okay with the current condition of the air conditioners.
“I think it’s fine, I still wear my sweater all the time and have no problem,” said Ashley Romero, a senior student at WJPS. “Although it isn’t a problem for me, if it’s becoming a problem for others than they should definitely work on a fix.”
WJPS staff are working on controlling the climate in the building, We’ll keep you updated if the conditions better or worsen.
