Fortnite: Battle Royale is a free game for all. Fortnite: Battle Royale came out on September 26th 2017. Fortnite later became the #1 played game in late 2017

Fortnite has two game modes, Coop PvE, and Battle Royale. Battle Royale is the most popular because it is free, and is a cartoon version of the hit game, Player Unknown Battlegrounds. Fortnite: Battle Royale is a 3rd person shooter, and you can play Solo, Duo, or Squads. Solo can play up to 1 player, Duo’s can search up to 2 players, and Squad’s include teams of 4 people or less.

Fortnite is a game where 100 people start off in a flying bus, and the people in the bus can jump out from a certain spot within 35 seconds. There are many spots for people to go, and there are areas with special chests, and these special chests, contain loot such as guns, ammo, grenades, healing items, shields, and even camo suits to blend in with your surroundings.

Each Gun has a different Rarity. They go from Common (Grey) to Legendary (Orange). The higher the guns rarity, the better the gun is. Each gun you find, needs ammo for it. You are not supplied with ammo and have to scavenge around the map to find ammo. The more enemies you kill, the better the chance of getting more rare guns and ammo is.

Another feature of Fortnite: Battle Royale is materials, there are 3 different materials: wood, brick and metal. Wood you can get from mining the trees, and mining wood objects with your pickaxe, that everybody is supplied with. Brick you can get from mining Stone and other stone objects, and metal which is the best material to have and you can get it from mining materials made out of metal.

To win Fortnite: Battle Royale you have to keep running to the new borders, and if you get caught in the storm too long you will die, and start over from scratch again. If you and your squad are the last ones standing, you win and are rewarded a special parachute for your first win.

This game is still new but growing really fast. They are making and adding new content about every week or so, and it’s player base is growing each day. I would give it a 9 out of 10 for its new content. I would recommend getting this game because it is free and a newer concept in the gaming community.

WJPS News switched from a monthly newspaper (named The Blazer) to an online convergent media site. Now, working with the school’s broadcast, The Highlight and the yearbook The Byline, we are hoping to bring the information for students to one place.
