Bring 90’s Nick Shows Back

In the 90s, Nickelodeon aired shows such as Rugrats, CatDog, Hey, Arnold!, etc.. 24/7. Now they only air them from the time periods, 10pm-6am. Many say that they want to bring back the show to be able to view for their own kids and share their very own special childhood memories. Photo attributions to Ross Hawkes.

In the 90’s Nickelodeon played shows like Rugrats, CatDog, Hey, Arnold!, Rocko’s Modern Life, The

Angry Beavers, The Wild Thornberrys and Rocket Power. These shows used to play 24/7, but now viewers can only see them from 10:00pm-6:00am.

Many shows and movies that have come around or been added onto the schedule aren’t as great as the originals. Nickelodeon shouldn’t just add on to these shows, but simply replay them.

It’s nostalgic when these shows are on viewers screens. If only there was a full day or even a channel where these shows could replay. This would solve the controversy in the decision of having them air by giving the audience a choice on what they want to watch.

“It would be cool if they did a replay but not a remake of all the shows,” mathematics teacher Mr.Mullen said.

People who watched these shows back when they were on Nickelodeon all day, want to bring them back for their children. They want their children to watch it because they loved it so much and want to pass it down to them.

“There should probably be a channel where they only show 90’s cartoons because a lot of the shows today aren’t liked anymore but I’m sure if a channel was created where all they could watch was like Hey, Arnold!, Rugrats, Rocket Power like all of these shows, it would get tons of hits from all the kids now who want to watch these shows but just can’t find them,” senior Kaila Pulley said.

Although some people may believe that it should come back, not everyone agrees. Some believe in keeping the past in the past and the 90s shows are the past. There was different technology back then so the graphics and animation look very different from today’s quality of television.

“Nickelodeon should not bring back the 90’s cartoons because the 90’s stuff should stay in the 90’s. We are in the 21st century right now,” junior Adriana Ramku said.
A replay would be something that no children’s channel has ever done before. A breathtaking news like this would spread through social media in a heartbeat and would be a sweet surprise.
