Standards

by Jason Ruiz, staff reporter

Hourglass as the hours pass.

Can’t hold on to a second, minute, an hour past.

Work for a letter grade.

F to an A, a letter upgraded

Degraded, can’t make something out of nothing.

Why start now if it’s too late

A letter can bring out a debate for a destined fate.

Dear College,

Coming here makes me believe you don’t want me, but want what I’m paying.

Knowledge is what I’m looking for, but why are you teaching me ignorance?

Your’s truly, Reality.

To set bliss aside and watch the world consume the vigorous.

A job’s a job, yet we spent our prime years for a skill taught in months.

Relation of time and money is equivalent

Have you ever heard of this?

Two dimensional mindset, in a three dimensional world.

Black and white views, but not in different colors.

Not in different angles and not in a different setting.

Not as the predator and not as the prey.

Not in one’s shoes and not in one’s perspective.

Retrospective, you will see that life is made up of standards.

Recollective, you will realize that life is managed with different handles.

Social status is non-existing.

Status is another word for acceptance.

Success nowadays don’t come from only college.

What people may lack in academics

They make up in tenacity, brains, and guts.

No excuses of if, and, or buts.

No doubts just a motive.

To live around this planet with influences.

Yet, we keep up, we keep focus.

Standards

Something we strive for, but not why we’re alive for.

Standards define as a level of acquirement or attainment.

Simple minded try to live up to other people’s standards.

They forget standards are also made for themselves.

Standards definition: a required or agreed level of quality or attainment.

Agreed for who?

For the person living up to their own.
