British singer/songwriter, Adele, is back selling millions once again. Her new single “Hello,” released on October 23, has become the fastest selling single.
The British singer made a comeback, selling 1.1 million copies and breaking the charts for most U.S. downloads in a week. “Hello” reached the top of Billboard’s Top 100 list before her album had come out.
“Hello” is a ballad that empowers women. She reflects on her past heartaches and failed relationships through her heart-wrenching lyrics. The song is based on Adele calling her ex back and wondering if he still thinks about her. He never picks up and she wonders why.
In an interview with The New York Times, she stated, “In order for me to feel confident with one of my songs it has to really move me. That’s how I know I’ve written a good song for myself – it’s when I start crying. It’s when I break out in [expletive] tears in the vocal booth or in the studio, and I’ll need a moment to myself.”
“It was good at first but people started over playing it. It’s not a bad song, it’s just played too much,” junior Kayla Morell said.
Adele, now 27, is planning a tour after her album is released. Her third album, “25” will be released on November 20, 2015. Fans are looking forward to see what she has in store.
