The school had its first ever middle school basketball team. It was created around the beginning of the year and has been practicing since. Surprisingly, the gym teachers aren’t the ones coaching the team. The coach staff consists of a science teacher (Mr.Van Dures), a Spanish teacher (Mr.Reff), and two math teachers (Mr. Mullen and Mr. Gardner).

The team ranges from the ages 11-13 practicing on converting plays, improving their shoots and also their ball handling skills. The team meets every Tuesday and Thursday in the gym, right after school.

They held their first game on Friday December 4th in the school’s gym. Since then, they have played 3 games in total. Despite losing each game they played, the students are still trying their best to get that first W.

“I feel like the team has definitely has come far despite the losses, whenever we set up the play and everything goes according to the plan and we are able to score. It’s a really nice process and especially when getting the play to follow through is a really hard process, but there is still much to learn, even though our first game is on friday we still need practice more on the plays and teamwork” said by Mr.Van Dures

Please check the schedule for any upcoming games and support the school’s, first ever, basketball team.
