Middle schoolers take a big step when moving on to high school. Students have more responsibilities when they are in high school, such as preparing for college, meeting academic requirements, and managing time.

Eighth graders start preparing for high schools this time of year by going to high school fairs around their area.

“I’m nervous about going to high school because I think it’s going to be different from middle school. I think I’m going to have more responsibilities like keeping up with homework and being more organized,” eighth grader Kayla Martinez said.

Based on polls, most of the freshmen were looking forward to going to high school and felt indifferent about transitioning from middle school to high school.
“Compared to middle school, lunch is really early and the kids in high school are a lot older,” freshman Rebecca Barbarisi said.
