In a shocking turn of events, the Toronto Raptors have been swept by the Washington Wizards. They lost the playoff series 4-0

Many fans are shocked and heartbroken, but one man predicted this from the beginning.

When it was revealed that the Washington Wizards would meet the Toronto Raptors in the first round of the Eastern Conference Playoffs, Wizards Small Forward Paul Pierce wasn’t shy on his opinion of the Raptors.

“We haven’t done particularly well against Toronto, but I don’t feel they have the ‘It’ that makes you worried. There isn’t a team I look at in the Eastern Conference that makes me say, ‘They are intimidating, we don’t have a chance,’” Pierce said.

Often called “The Truth”, Pierce averaged 16 points throughout the series vs the Raptors. His most pivotal performance was game one against Toronto where he silenced the crowd notching 20 points and securing the victory for Washington.

“I feel sorry for Raptor fans. They were both insulted and beaten throughout this entire series. Pierce and the Wizards broke down Toronto and their fans physically, mentally, and emotionally. I hope there is a team that can shut them up,” senior Emmanuel Damanakis said.

Pierce wasn’t finished with his verbal assault on the Raptors after the series. Pierce took to Twitter where he insulted both Raptor fans and their team ambassador Drake. Pierce would then deem himself the “King of the North”, mocking Toronto’s rally cry, “We the North”.

With Toronto in their rearview mirror, Washington has now advanced to the Eastern Conference Semifinals. They will face the winner of the Atlanta Hawks/Brooklyn Nets matchup.

Washington advanced to the Eastern Conference semis last season, and they know what it’s like to taste defeat. For Pierce and the Raptors, they look to avoid another postseason loss and further their playoff hopes.
