Common Cursing

By: Diego Figueroa, Opinion Reporter

Many of today’s youth swear constantly. For many, a simple curse word is said in mostly every sentence. Some in the teenage world, or “Gen Z” has made it a casual thing to curse when saying something, and use it in their day-to-day vocabulary.

When asked his opinion on cursing and how many times they curse on a daily basis, WJPS 11th grader Jalen Marte said, “I think it’s normal to curse. It’s something people do daily or when they’re mad. I curse about 100 times a day, maybe more, it’s just in my vocabulary.”

WJPS eighth grader David Figueroa said, “I try to control how much I curse and when I curse because at home around adults I don’t use any of those words. I probably only curse around friends and at school or when I’m upset.”

Society has been using these curse words more as the years pass. It has been involved in music, movies, and shows. Cursing has become prevalent in society and has had an impact on today’s age.

You can replace your everyday cursing with other words. Spreading some kindness doesn’t hurt at all.
