Following February break, WJPS bid a farewell to its past principal, Dr. Werner, and welcomed Mr. Yarmy as the acting interim principal for the remainder of the 2023-2024 school year.

Mr. Yarmy began his journey as assistant principal at WJPS in September of 2022.

He stated, “I’m really honored and I’m also happy that I can work in such a great place with such a great community and I’m looking to keep going and establish what Dr. Werner had, as well as bring us into new things, and look towards some new ideas.”

Mr. Yarmy said he felt comfortable with the interim position, “I would think that with any new members of the school community, we want to welcome them with open arms since they are a part of our team.”

WJPS 12th grader Punnapa Lou said, “I feel like it’s a really good idea because he’s been taking care of school related matters for a long time, and I can’t think of anybody who can be a better replacement than him.”
