Powerhouse Gym is located across the street from WJPS. This allows students and staff to workout before and after school. 

The gym is located on Francis Lewis Boulevard. Their hours are 5am to 10pm on weekdays and 7am to 9pm on weekends.

The membership ranges from a day pass, three month, six month, and one year. 

The gym consists of two floors. The main floor is dedicated to the front desk, cardio equipment, and general strength training machines. While the second floor consists of bench presses, deadlifts, and squat racks.

Powerhouse Gym is a branded gym. It was founded in 1974 and their first location was open in Highland Park, Michigan.

WJPS teacher Mr. Tesler said, “It’s very convenient.I get there around 5:30 am. It’s right across the street from the school so I can go there and exercise for a good one and a half.  It saves parking too.” 

WJPS 12th grader Frankie Mezzatone said, “I actually work there. It’s really easy for me since I end school early this year and it’s right across the street. Plus, I live pretty close to the neighborhood.”
