World Cup Book

With the FIFA World Cup coming to a close soon, many fans of the sport are rushing to fill up the World Cup book. Every four years when the World Cup starts, a book resembling a magazine is created with every national team that is participating in the tournament.

Fans have to buy packs of sticker cards and try to fill up as many players in their book as they can. The cards are sold at common places such as supermarkets, retail stores, and butcher shops.

The magazine can be purchased for up to 15 dollars while a pack of 250 stickers costs 50 dollars or single packs for one or two dollars. The rarity of the card depends on how high the player is ranked which makes those cards harder to find.

After buying a certain amount of packs, fans will find themselves with many duplicates of the same cards. These duplicates lead to many trading with their peers, friends and other family members.

WJPS senior Darwin Rosales said, “It’s really good. I personally love it and it’s every four years so it’s only once in a long time. It’s fun to find all the stickers and trade.”

WJPS junior Valentina Londono said, “It’s very thrilling because you’ll never know what stickers you’re going to get next. It could be your favorite player.”
