League of Legends, a game developed by Riot Games, is a five versus five multiplayer online game where the goal is to destroy the enemy’s nexus to win the match.

The 2022 League of Legends World Championship has invited 24 teams from 11 regions around the world.

The world championships started in September and will conclude on November 5th.  They are taking place in three cities within the United States: New York City, Atlanta, and San Francisco, as well as in Mexico City, Mexico. 

The world championships are divided into five stages: play-in, group stage, quarterfinals, semifinals, and finals. 

WJPS Junior William stated, “I am hyped for the 2022 League of Legends World Championships and I am cheering for Edward Gaming also known as EDG. I think my team will win the entire championship since they have a lot of coordination in their attacks and team fights.”

WJPS junior Jacob Geraghty said, “I am looking forward to the championship of the 2022 League of Legends World Championships.”
