Samsung released its newest phone in the Galaxy Fold series, the “Galaxy Z Fold4,” on August 26th. This new addition to the series provides users with the fastest processor in the series, called the “Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1” whilst being slightly thinner and eight grams lighter than the previous version.

It has been released in two new colorways, “Graygreen” and “Beige,”with a third color that is exclusive to the Samsung site, called “Burgundy.”

The Fold4s camera has changed from a 2x Optical Zoom Lense to 3x, and has three storage options consisting of 256 Gigabytes, 512 Gigabytes, or one Terabyte.

The screen has had little change from the previous model, containing the same refresh rate of 120 hertz and a change in screen resolution, changing from 2208×1768 pixels to 2176×1812 pixels.

It costs upwards of $1,799 depending on which storage option you choose. The Galaxy Fold3’s starting price has now dropped from $1,799 to $1,389.

WJPS senior, Giovanni Duran stated, “The concept of the flippable screened phones is interesting to me, but knowing how much its pricing is just unreasonable to me, and that’s coming from someone who owns an iPhone.”

WJPS technology specialist, Mr. Myrtil stated, “I’ve seen the phone in person, it folds quite well, and is visually appealing. I just don’t get the hype surrounding it.”
