Limited Water Options?

Limited+Water+Options%3F

You would think that a building with more than 1600 students would have tons of water fountains, but guess what, there’s barely one functioning water fountain in the lunchroom.

The lunchroom also has water vending machines, but when students try to use them they are either out of service or take money without giving anything.

Mr. Solimando, a WJPS school aide stated, “I feel like the kids have plenty of water, it might not work sometimes but they have water.”

Mr. Uchena, a WJPS drug counselor said, “I’m not really in the lunchroom as much, but they should probably have water available.”

WJPS freshman, Jade Rincon commented, “I feel like they should have water because it never works for me.”

Angelice Garcia, a WJPS 10th grader said, “I feel like they should refill the water fountain because students get thirsty and there’s never enough water or it’s dirty water.”

If the school was to always refill the water dispenser then there wouldn’t be a problem. Or at least have working vending machines because what’s the point of having them there if we can’t use them.

Many staff believe it’s enough, but they aren’t the ones who struggle to find water.
