Returning to a Routine

Students returned to in-person classes on September 13th, after learning remotely for a year and a half. In the past couple months students and teachers have had some time to adjust to an in-person routine.
Students have been getting acquainted with a changed learning environment as they have also been getting to know each other. WJPS seventh grader Maria Krzewski said, “The school system is working very well.”
Last school year, most classes were remote, preventing incoming sixth and ninth graders from being able to meet their peers and teachers. Now, they are seventh and 10th graders.
WJPS seventh grader Cassidy Everett said, “You get to see people you’ve never seen before.”
During the last school year, teachers were either hybrid (partially remote, partially in person) or fully remote.
WJPS teacher Ms. Bonanni, “It’s nice to see my students again. It’s nice to be talking to faces instead of empty boxes.”
Ms. Bonanni added, “Other than what time I wake up, my routine pretty much stays the same. There are things I miss about virtual learning,[but] if I had to pick, I’d pick in person.”
