WJPS Returning to In-Person Learning

After one year and a half of remote learning, students came back to school for in-person learning on September 13, 2021.

As WJPS staff and students are returning to the school building, many changes and challenges arise for the first week of school.

Students and staff members are required to do an online survey every morning before entering the school building and are required to wear masks even if they are fully vaccinated.

WJPS junior Elias Bautista said, “It’s easy to forget to do it, but it is really helpful for the school.”

Another concern arose throughout the first week for some, as there was a traffic problem outside of the school.

As parents double park or triple park around the school, this often creates a traffic jam that also affects students who ride the bus as it makes it difficult for the MTA buses to leave the school area.

“Traffic was crazier than ever. I take the Q28 and there is always traffic,” Keuntae Yim, a junior at WJPS stated.
