COVID-19 Vaccination Mandate for College

President Joe Biden has released a new mandate regarding the COVID-19 vaccine.

According to this mandate, college students who are not vaccinated are required to be fully vaccinated against the virus before they enter the college campus. This also applies to large private businesses and federal contractors.

No one knows if the mandate will impact colleges and universities that don’t concur.

Ashinda Fowler, a WJPS senior, said, “I feel we should get vaccinated, it will protect us.”

It is also unknown what will happen to colleges and universities in states that have laws that go against the vaccine mandates.

However, some Republican leaders and advocates who are against the idea to vaccinate employees and college students want to fight against Biden’s actions in court.

The Republican National Committee said that they will sue the Biden administration over the mandate for the college vaccine.

While some people are against the college vaccine mandate, others support it.

WJPS senior, Logan Ruiz, said, “I think it is fair to say that colleges are requiring vaccines because not only does it protect the professors and classmates of the college, but it protects yourself and it allows the economy to get back into shape the way it was or even better.”
