As a junior high school, you can pretty much say that I’m used to having to do homework on a daily basis.
Some students wonder what the purpose of homework is. To me, the purpose is to go home and reflect, usually to practice what you learned. I feel like homework is actually important and helpful to some extent.
It gets ridiculous when homework is unreasonably overbearing and too much. Especially, on breaks, the purpose of break is to relax, not to have two to three packets.
Teachers should understand that some of us have after school activities, or jobs and can be difficult to manage everything at once.
I believe too much homework is unnecessary and way too stressful for students. Overbearing work can lead to students breaking down and lack of sleep.
To prevent this, I believe some students should try and finish the assignments in school whenever they can, mainly during lunch because it is a free period. That way, students won’t feel overloaded with homework and stress.
“I think that homework is helpful. My definition of homework is to continue our learning outside of the classroom,” said Cameron Gutmann WJPS junior.
“I think that it is harmful. It’s better to do work inside of school than outside,” said Maria Cortez WJPS junior.
