Apex Legends is the most recent released title from Respawn Games under the parent company EA. Apex Legends is a battle royale game set in the Titanfall universe, which is another Respawn Games title.

The game was a surprise to the public, considering there were no announcements or trailers to show off the game before release. The game was such a hit at its launch that over 25 million people are playing it concurrently, surpassing other battle royale game such as Fortnite, Call of Duty’s Blackout mode, and PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds.

The game currently has a total of eight characters, with six being free and two being unlocked via premium currency or by gaining experience points. The characters are Bangalore, Bloodhound, Caustic, Gibraltar, Lifeline, Mirage, Pathfinder, and Wraith.

The characters are in different groups known as support, offense, and Bloodhound. Support is a class that focuses on helping the team via healing or shields. Offense is a class that focuses on dealing damage. Lastly, Bloodhound’s abilities increase visibility in combat situations by highlighting the enemy in a certain range.

“The game is amazing considering the circumstances on how it was released,” said WJPS Senior Paul Dresner, “The class system also gives the gamemode variety on how to play.”
