Republican front runner Donald J. Trump wins big during Super Tuesday, bringing him one huge step forward in becoming the Republican nominee.

Trumps win over Marco Rubio’s home state of Florida which costed Rubio 99 delegates and ultimately forced Rubio into dropping out of the race entirely. However, this was not the case for Ohio, John Kasich’s home territory, which lost him 66 delegates in that winner takes all delegates situation.

Regardless of this, it was Trumps only loss this Super Tuesday, he still won the Illinois, North Carolina and Missouri primaries, granting him a total of 189 delegates. Ted Cruz is the only Republican nominee that has the potential and the numbers to get ahead of Trump being about 270 delegates behind.

“If Donald Trump keeps this up, he is sure to win the republican presidential nomination,” junior Michael Rosa said

Once again Trump comes out on top, winning five out of the six states featured during this Super Tuesday, bringing him up to 678 delegates of the required 1,237 delegates needed to be nominated as the Republican presidential candidate.
