“I think that this is crazy, allowing people in our country that could be terrorists. We need to do what’s safe for the American people,” junior Justin Raclaw said.

Thirty One U.S. States stretching from Florida to Nevada, Tennessee to Maine, and Ohio to Texas, so far oppose the acceptance of Syrian refugees, after the terrorist attacks on Paris.

Even though this is a Federal issue, State governments want to fight it and make it more difficult for the process to occur.

“I demand the U.S. act similarly. Security comes first,” Texas Gov. Greg Abbott(R) on States refusing refugees said.

One of the terrorists involved in the Paris attacks who used the name Ahmed al Muhammad, was allowed to enter Greece in October. The U.S. has accepted 1,500 Syrian refugees since 2011 and the Obama Administration calls for accepting 10,000 more next year.

According to the United Nations, Syria has the largest refugee population. According to the Refugee Act of 1980, the refugees are able to be placed anywhere in the U.S.

“I think that this is crazy, allowing people in our country that could be terrorists. We need to do what’s safe for the American people,” junior Justin Raclaw said.
