The WJPS PTA ice skating fundraiser took place April 5th at World Ice Arena in Flushing. The event garnered many WJPS students and staff.
WJPS families skated around with a two hour ticket. However, the ice arena allowed them to skate for more time, so instead of the 7:00pm-9:00 pm window, they skated until 9:30.
The PTA had a table set up for wristbands, waivers, and free water bottles to be given out to each person.
For some, it was a learning experience, and for others, it was like riding a bike.
WJPS 9th grader, Nico Eyzaguirre stated, “I love to ice skate, it’s really easy for me and I like to go super fast.”
WJPS 9th grader, Collin Saide stated, “I had a nice time, all my friends were there and it’s cool to practice skating around and have fun.”
In the end, the fundraiser raised money for WJPS’s PTA, helping them fund not only more trips in the future, but also special events for the school.
